Revenue Estimating Conference Doesn't Budge On Projected Income

The administration of Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards is still more or less hogtied to previous projections for money flowing into the state's coffers.

For the second week in a row, the Revenue Estimating Conference yesterday stuck to its previous forecast. The move to increase the amount failed to meet the required unanimous agreement by the four-member panel when Republican House Speaker Taylor Barras voted against such a move.

Edwards is looking to add more than $40 million to revenue projections so his administration can move forward providing additional funding for corrections, juvenile justice and sheriffs.
