In Lafourche Parish, a Golden Meadow man is in trouble for stealing an ambulance with an admitted goal of hopping a flight overseas.
Sheriff Craig Webre said Monday that 33-year-old Rory Guidry was arrested in St. Charles Parish not long after stealing the ambulance late Friday night from Lady of the Sea Hospital in Cut Off.
He told deputies that he planned to drive to Louis Armstrong international Airport in Kenner and sneak onto a plane to Japan.
Guidry was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $50,000.
