There could be a steep price to pay if you are sickened by influenza, and today you won't have to cough up the money to get a flu shot.

Louisiana Health Department officials say that on average, 500 people die each year in the state from flu-related problems and several thousand are hospitalized. However, last year, there were 1,600 deaths, five of them children.
