A number of Louisiana locations are said to have been among hundreds of places nationwide that received bomb threats yesterday, prompting precautionary evacuations.
The threats allegedly stemmed from a mass email sent by an unknown writer demanding bitcoin currency in exchange for safety.
At least two Baton Rouge banks received the threats early yesterday afternoon, with similar threats sent to locations elsewhere in the state, including Alexandria and Metairie.
No explosive devices were found.
