The defense led the way as Saints held off the Panthers 12-9 on Monday Night Football in Charlotte.
New Orleans limited Carolina to 247 yards of total offense and forced a pair of turnovers.
Alvin Kamara rushed for the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Drew Brees threw for 203 yards and an interception in the win.
New Orleans is 12-and-2 and just a win away from locking up the top seed in the NFC.
Cam Newton threw for 131 yards and a pick as Carolina lost its sixth straight to fall to 6-and-8. Christian McCaffrey had 120 yards of offense and threw a touchdown pass on a trick play in defeat.
