At midweek, gas prices that have been falling steadily for weeks now are stalled for the moment.
AAA reports the average price of regular in Louisiana is up a fraction of a cent, but still in the ballpark of $2.05 a gallon. Drivers in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas are finding gas well below $2 a gallon.

That's about a nickel lower than a week ago, so traveling around the state just days before Christmas is still a bargain compared to a month ago. That's when the fuel was averaging $2.34 a gallon.
