As the population continues to grow in St. Tammany Parish, the public school district is looking to buy a new piece of land in Goodbee.

The district has not decided when, or even if, it will build a new school, but the School Board Recently authorized the district to purchase a 6.2 acre parcel of land, located at LA 1077 and McGee Road.

It would cost nearly $300,000 and would be combined with a neighboring 7.4 acres the district already owns.

Officials say any new schools would not be build until the future, but should they move forward, it would be enough land to accommodate an elementary school.
