As Christmas week draws to a close, drivers in Louisiana are reaping the benefits of gas prices that are still falling statewide.
According to AAA, the statewide average price of regular has dropped below a $1.98 a gallon, or about six cents lower than last Friday. This time last year, the fuel was averaging $2.23 a gallon.
Drivers in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area can find prices around $1.65 a gallon.
