The outgoing mayor of Abita Springs is still trying to figure out why a man ran him off the road into a ditch and then struck him several times in the face while still strapped in the driver's seat.
NOLA.com reports the incident happened December 21st while 71-year-old Greg Lemons was headed home from a party. He was left with a blackened left eye and a bloodied nose.
Lemons was defeated by Dan Curtis in a November 8th bid for re-election.
