St. Tammany Parish is moving closer towards providing the $7.2 million needed for the I-12 widening project.
A resolution to amend the capital improvement budget has been adopted and an ordinance was introduced last Thursday to amend the Public Works Fund so money can be allocated.
The council will likely approve the ordinance at the February meeting, and the state says that would allow construction to begin in early 2020.
