Government Shutdown Impacting New Orleans Blood Supply

The partial federal government shutdown is making an impact on the local blood supply in New Orleans.

Two blood drives were scheduled to take place at federal government buildings in the Big Easy, but were cancelled because there would be no employees at the building to donate.

The Blood Center is now calling on people to show up to a blood drive being held today at the WDSU-TV parking Lot on Howard Avenue from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Anyone over 16 can donate.
