Robbery Suspect Killed By Luling Pharmacist Identified

Authorities are identifying the suspect killed in a drug store robbery attempt in Luling as Mark Fisher Jr.

The sheriff's office says Fisher was armed and wearing a mask when he entered Thrift Village Drugs early Monday night demanding drugs.

He zipped-tied a clerk, but then got into a confrontation while trying to zip-tie the pharmacist who pulled out a gun and shot Fisher in the leg.

He apparently bled out and died after fleeing behind the strip mall.

The department said in a Facebook post that, at this point in the investigation, Sheriff Greg Champagne does not believe criminal charges will be filed against the pharmacist and tnat the use of deadly force was justified.
