Three people are dead, including a toddler, after a truck crashed into Bayou Lafourche.
Troopers say the accident took place just before midnight Monday on LA 308 near East 165th Street. Investigators say the driver left the roadway in a left curve for unknown reasons and over corrected, crossing the roadway and becoming submerged in the water.
Police identified the driver as 37-year-old Michael Barthelemy, and his passengers as 17-year-old Zackary Cheramie and two-year-old Trisha Barthelemy. All three were trapped, and later pronounced dead at the scene.
