The lights are back on now for most, but a power outage impacted tens of thousands of Cleco and Entergy customers for a while early last night north of Lake Pontchartrain.
The outages at their height impacted nearly 40,000 customers of the two utilities.
There was no immediate confirmation on the cause of the power losses or whether the outages were somehow related.
