Donations continue to pour into a GoFundMe account set up to assist the family of a Jefferson Parish firefighter injured Saturday while working an apartment fire in Metairie.
Danny Zieglar was seriously injured when he fell through the roof and into the flames. The account set up to help with the family's expenses had neared half of its $100,000 goal by early this morning.
"Danny has a long road to recovery as this will exceed what medical bills will possibly cover," read the campaign's description. "All money collected will be turned over to the family members who will be caring for Danny and making the necessary payments to all expenses to help our brother get through this and transition back to a normal healthy life."
