A New Orleans man is in jail after stealing fried chicken from a Popeyes restaurant.
Police say 27-year-old Phillip Lee attempted to rob the Popeyes in the 8700 block of Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans East on Monday around noon. Lee attempted to steal money from the register, but he could not get the cash drawer to open, so he settled for grabbing some fried chicken before taking off.
Police later found and arrested Lee on allegations of simple robbery and simple battery.
