Officials are reporting they've recovered the body of a missing boater in St. Bernard Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries say the unidentified boater was reported missing around 8 a.m. this morning at the Hopedale marina.
Investigators say the boat launched from the marina with the driver was using his GPS to navigate due to low visibility. After nearly running into a bank, the driver turned the vessel hard to avoid it and sent the two passengers overboard. One was the victim who died.
The boater's death is under investigation.
