(Kenner, LA) -- Kenner police are warning people of a new phone scam. Reports claim a caller identifies them self as an Entergy employee who is calling to collect past due payments. The person on the phone threatens to disconnect the electricity unless the past due payment is made by Western Union. They tell the potential victims to go to the nearest Western Union service location and call back a phone number provided for further instructions on where to wire the money. Kenner police say utility companies and government agencies will never demand immediate money through Western Union or Green Dot Money Pak.
