Organizers for the 2019 Essence Festival say Mary J. Blige will be one of the headline musical acts during the July 4th weekend event in the Superdome.
The festival that bears the slogan "party with a purpose" is put on by Essence Magazine.
Others performers who will be hitting the stage for 25th annual edition of the festival include Pharrel, Missy Elliott and Jermaine Dupri.
