The average price of regular isn't exactly soaring to new heights, but it is definitely heading north.
AAA Wednesday reports the statewide average price of the fuel in Louisiana now exceeds $2.16 a gallon, or about eight cents higher than last Wednesday.
While the fuel has gone up more than 16 cents over the past month, it's almost 20 cents cheaper than a year ago.
Drivers in Baton Rouge and New Orleans can still find prices under $2 a gallon for regular, according to GasBuddy.
