A third child is dead following last Wednesday's brutal hammer attack by a man at a Terrytown apartment in Jefferson Parish.
The latest death, that of 14-year-old Nashawna Riley, came last night.
Two children and a woman died at the scene of the domestic homicide that led to the arrest of 33-year-old Terrance Leonard, who is accused of striking the four children in the head with a hammer as they slept and then attacked and killed his girlfriend when she arrived home.
The fourth child, a 12-year-old girl, remains hospitalized.
Leonard is now expected to face four counts of first-degree murder.
