BGR Urges Voters To Reject Tax Hike For Senior Services

The Bureau of Governmental Research, a nonpartisan policy think tank, is urging voters in New Orleans to turn thumbs-down on a property tax hike that would fund senior citizen services.

It issued a report yesterday that said city officials have not laid out detailed information about where the money would go.

The two-mill tax increase has the goal of providing elderly residents in the city with meals and senior centers, among other things.
