Trooper Won't Face Criminal Charges In Killing Of Motorist

A trooper who shot and killed a motorist during a traffic stop in Hammond last year won't face criminal charges.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports that decision was announced yesterday by 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux. He says his office has concluded the shooting was justified.

Coltin LeBlanc of Loranger died at the hospital after being shot by Trooper Andre Bezou as he tried to drive off from a traffic stop in late September. Bezou was hanging onto the driver's side door of the man's pickup truck when he opened fire.
