A North Shore man who pleaded guilty to killing his estranged girlfriend and burning her body will spend a few decades behind bars.

District Attorney Warren Montgomery's office says in a news released issued yesterday that 57-year-old Gary Harris, of Bush, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for manslaughter and a consecutive ten years for tampering with evidence.

The victim, 42-year-old Nanette King, went missing in 2015 after leaving work. Her body was found in a burned-out car three weeks later in a wooded area of northern St. Tammany Parish.
