Cop's Son Seeks Lower Bond In Esplanade Ave. Crash

The son of a New Orleans cop is seeking to have his bond lowered following his arrest earlier this month in a crash that left two bicyclists dead and seven others injured.

Tashonty Toney was allegedly speeding at up to 80 miles per hour when his Camaro slammed into the bikers on his 32nd birthday which happened to be the night of the Endymion Parade on Mardi Gras weekend.

Bail is currently set at $510,000 and he wants it rolled back to no more than $135,000. New Orleans Magistrate Commissioner Jonathan Friedman is set to consider the request Thursday.
