The captain of a tugboat that capsized and sank in the Mississippi River in Plaquemines Parish early Monday night remains missing and presumed dead.

The Coast Guard suspended its search yesterday afternoon for David Mills, of Marrero.

Two others were rescued after the vessel M/V Seattle Slew, operated by Turn Services, ran into trouble near Myrtle Grove while pushing an empty barge in the turbulent river water.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
