Louisiana Receives "F" In School Safe Drinking Water Report

Louisiana is among 21 states that are not doing what a public interest research group believes they should do to protect children from being exposed to lead in drinking water at school.

In fact, the Environment America Research & Policy Center gave Louisiana and 21 other states an "F" in a report released late last week.

Most of the failing grades were handed out because of states relying on some level of testing water supplies rather than taking steps, such as replacing fountains and faucets, to head off possible contamination.
