The City of New Orleans is suspending parking restrictions until 10 a.m. Friday as the threat of severe weather continues.
Residents will be able to park on neutral grounds and sidewalks to avoid street flooding as long as they do not block intersections or streetcar tracks.
Real-time reports of street flooding can be found at streetwise.nola.gov. Drivers are also warned they will be ticketed by NOPD if they drive faster than 5 miles per hour on streets with standing water.
Residents should also call 911 to report street flooding and other life-threatening emergencies.
