It's being reported that it's no small contingent that joined New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell in a visit to Cuba that will wrap up this weekend.

She left for the island nation earlier this week, seeking out dialogue with officials there on a variety of issues, including economic development.

The trip, reportedly being funded with public and private monies, has drawn critical attention because there was no pre-travel announcement of the trip from the mayor's office.

City officials say nearly three dozen people traveled with Cantrell to Cuba on Tuesday.
