The State Fire Marshal's Office is seeking the public's help in its investigation of several church fires in Louisiana since early last week.
Three of the blazes damaged or destroyed historically black houses of worship in St. Landry Parish, the latest yesterday morning at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Opelousas where the front of the structure was the only thing left standing. A fourth church fire occurred recently in Caddo Parish.
Governor John Bel Edwards says his "heart goes out to each of the congregations."
