Former north shore district attorney Walter Reed is planning to seek a delay in serving his four-year prison stretch after being convicted on corruption charges earlier.

He says he's being treated for prostate cancer and wants to have surgery or radiation treatments before being locked up by the feds in West Virginia.

As it stands now, the 72-year-old Reed is scheduled to begin serving his time Monday. His attorney is seeking a 15-day delay.
