Former Saints Player Helping Destroyed Churches Raise Funds

2015 Walter Payton NFL Man Of The Year Finalist Press Conference

Former Saints tight end Ben Watson is helping raise money for the recently destroyed historically black churches.

Watson tweeted out a link to the GoFundMe campaign with his endorsement of the fundraiser, saying they're working to ensure 100% of the funds go directly to the three affected churches.

He said the focus is not placing the blame on the suspect taken into custody, but instead on the commitment to rebuilding.

The fundraising goal is set at $1.8 million.
