A Mandeville man is being sentenced to life in prison for killing his estranged wife in 2017.
Reports state 40-year-old George Dargis, Jr. was handed a mandatory life sentence with no possibility of parole in the second-degree murder of Julie Dargis. Dargis allegedly showed up at his estranged wife's home after bonding out of jail.
The couple got into an argument, leading Dargis to slash her throat before fleeing in her rental car.
The judge also sentenced Dargis to 70 years in prison for other crimes, with both sentences to be served concurrently.
