Presser Abruptly Canceled On New Orleans Infrastructure Funding

A news conference that had been set to take place at the State Capitol today concerning additional funding for infrastructure work in New Orleans and the city's Sewage and Water Board won't be happening.

The Times-Picayune posted a story last night that said the Cantrell administration contacted the governor's office late yesterday to cancel the press event.

The mayor, Governor Edwards and hospitality industry leaders were believed to have forged an agreement to funnel more money into the city's coffers, but today's scheduled announcement has been at least temporarily postponed with no immediate word on exactly why.
