A Bogalusa man is jailed in Ascension Parish after stealing an ambulance early Sunday from the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.
Police say 40-year-old Clayton Florane admitted to stealing the rig because he needed a ride home after being released from the hospital.
He was arrested around nine yesterday morning after officers conducted a traffic stop in Gonzales when they noticed damage to the vehicle, the license plate not visible and the driver wearing civilian clothes.
Florane is charged with felony possession of stolen goods and driving under suspension.
