Curbside recycling pickup could be stopping in both Orleans and Jefferson parishes due to rising prices.
Officials are working to find a new recycling service after Republic Services announced it would no longer accept household recycling items.
Administrations of both parishes were informed that Republic Services would stop accepting household collections on May 17th due to high contamination in household recyclables.
It's not clear what the next move is, but parish officials say they're exploring all options for the best solution.
