The Advocate reports that prosecutors are seeking Google's help in retrieving files deleted from the cell phone of a suspect in the hazing death of LSU freshman Max Gruver, who died in September 2017 from alcohol poisoning.

Ex-frat member Matthew Naquin is awaiting trial on a charge of negligent homicide in the death of the Roswell, Georgia 18-year-old.

The FBI was able to unlock Naquin's phone in March, but hundreds of files were allegedly deleted by Naquin during the criminal probe. Investigators are hoping the information was backed up to two Google accounts.
