Louisiana public school teachers could be receiving a $1,200 pay hike if a $30 billion state budget approved by the House yesterday wins Senate approval and becomes law.
The annual pay for teacher support staff workers would increase $600 under the spending plan.
The state's student-scholarship program known as TOPS would be fully funded in the proposed budget.
Changes are expected once the bill hits the Senate floor, but just how remains to be seen.
