Company officials are blaming the tugboat captain for a Sunshine Bridge crash in Gonzales.
On Saturday, Marquette Transportation's president and other officials said that Captain Desmond Smith was solely responsible for the crash because he failed to follow company internal safety and voyage planning policies.
Last October, the Kristen Alexis tugboat was pushing a large crane barge upriver and it got stuck under the Sunshine Bridge near Donaldsonville.
Repairs have cost upwards of $6.5 million.
