NOPD Makes Arrest In Deadly Bourbon Street Shooting

New Orleans Police made a quick arrest in an deadly early-morning shooting on Bourbon Street where the female victim was shot in the face.

Eighth District officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 900 block of Bourbon around 12:16 a.m. and found Shay De St. Germain who was brought by EMS to a local hospital where she was declared dead.

Alexander Kirby, 33, was detained at the scene by State Police and French Quarter Task Force officers. After questioning, Kirby was arrested and now faces charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Kirby allegedly shot De St. Germain after a confrontation with her new boyfriend.
