Governor John Bel Edwards is holding fast to his pro-life stance.
In a meeting with reporters yesterday, he appeared to reaffirm his likelihood to sign the state's fetal heartbeat abortion law, if and when it lands on his desk. He noted he was a pro-life legislator during his eight years in the legislature and ran for governor as being pro-life.
The new highly-restrictive abortion bill still needs House approval.
