Louisiana Cities Denied Chance To Set Their Own Minimum Wage

Definition of the word Minimum wage in a dictionary

Cities across Louisiana are being denied the right to set their own minimum wage.

At the State Capitol, the House Labor Committee voted nine-to-six yesterday to kill legislation that would have tossed out a two-decades old law that bars cities and localities from establishing their own minimum wage and paid leave laws.

Business groups opposed the measure that had the support of labor leaders and workers.
