Former Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts is pleading not guilty to tax evasion and wire fraud in a federal courtroom.
Roberts is facing multiple counts of tax evasion and fraud. He was indicted just days after he stepped down from his position.
The charges filed against him say he under-reported his income to the IRS each year between 2010 and 2016 and attempted to amend the returns when he was made aware of the investigations.
His trial date is set for July 29th.
