Louisiana GOP Executive Director Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Battery

The executive director of Louisiana's Republican party is pleading guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge.

Andrew Bautsch was arrested on March 18th in New Orleans at the Pontchartrain Hotel on allegations of criminal trespassing, resisting an officer and battery.

Reports say the incident took place on his wedding night as Bautsch and a group of his friends were at a hotel bar. When they were asked to leave by officers working off-duty detail, things are said to have gotten physical.

The D.A.'s office decided not to prosecute for trespassing or resisting an officer, and credited him with time served when he entered his plea.
