(Baton Rouge, LA) -- CBD oil is nearly legal in Louisiana. On Saturday, the Louisiana state Senate approved HB491, which legalizes hemp cultivation and hemp-derived CBD oil products. The bill now heads to the House and then will go to the governor. For months, hemp-derived CBD oil products have been sold over-the-counter in Louisiana. Law enforcement has rarely cracked down on it, even though it's still considered a Schedule 1 narcotic.
