(New Orleans, LA) -- Mayor LaToya Cantrell's office is saying they have denied a request for a summertime Nyx parade over public safety concerns. According to yesterday's statement from the Mayor, the addition of a second parade in the summer is not feasible because it would strain public safety resources in the middle of hurricane season. Cantrell praised the all-women's krewe who requested the parade and applauded them for their community efforts and commitment.
