Ex-St. Tammany Sheriff Granted Request To Be Moved To A New Jail

Ex-St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain is being moved to a different prison after a court commissioner granted his request yesterday.

Judicial District Court Commissioner Dan Foil approved Strain's request to be moved out of the St. Tammany Parish Jail to a different facility.

Strain is accused of multiple sex-crime-related charges and is due in court for an arraignment hearing on July 3rd.

Officials said even though the request had been granted it would take some time before they could move Strain and they had no timetable established for when it could occur.
