Rules Changed For Mural Painting On Private Property In New Orleans

Painter's Hands

City officials are changing the rules for painting a mural on private property.

It will now cost $50 to apply for a permit, instead of $500, while painters will only need permission from the Department of Safety and Permits.

However, muralists still need to prove they have the property owner's permission and submit sketches for approval.

All of the new regulations and application forms can be found on the city's One Stop site.
