Gretna Issuing Gator Warning

NASA Reschedules Launch Of Space Shuttle

Gretna is warning residents about several large gators in the area that have been spotted along the riverfront.

Mayor Belinda Constant ordered signs to be posted notifying people that the large reptiles had been seen in the area, and says they'll remain posted until Mississippi River levels go down.

Constant said she hopes the signs will keep children and pets out of harms way, and says when the steps along the river are flooded, it's easier for gators to get out of the water.

People are being urged not to feed the gators.
