Plea Bargain Coming For Man Accused Of Killing Bicyclists During Carnival

A man accused of killing two bicyclists is close to reaching a plea bargain.

Prosecutors said yesterday that Tashonty Toney is prepared to plead guilty on two counts of vehicular homicide and seven counts of vehicular injury.

Officials say Toney was drunk when he drove into a group of cyclists on Esplanade Avenue during Carnival.

Toney is due back in court on August 1st to finalize a potential plea bargain and could face 90 years in prison if the case ends up going to trial.
